New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady explaining that his previous suggestion that it would be “great” if Donald Trump were president was just an “offhand comment” that shouldn’t be mistaken as an official endorsement (via Boston radio station WEEI):

“Whatever I vote is going to be my own personal choice based on how I feel. I don’t even know what the issues are. I haven’t paid attention to politics in a long time so … It’s actually not something that I really even enjoy. It’s way off my radar.”

Trump may have lost the NFL’s golden boy, but Tuesday wasn’t a total wash for the GOP front-runner: Investor Carl Icahn, who the Donald has touted as a potential Treasury secretary, went public with his support for his fellow billionaire. “We need a president that can move Congress and I think Donald Trump could do it,” Icahn said in a video posted to his own website. “I disagree with him on certain issues, and certainly would talk to him more, but this is what this country needs—somebody to wake it up.”
